The feature combines walking, shared bikes, e-scooters, e-bikes and public transit into guided itineraries, with context at points of interest along the way. It supports shared vehicles from operators including Lime, Dott, Voi and Zeus Mobility, and is rolling out across Europe and the US. Inside Segway's Changzhou LaunchSegway Commercial unveiled four new vehicles at its first shared micromobility product launch in Changzhou: the R1 shared e-scooter, C100 and C200 shared e-bikes, and F100 delivery platform. The lineup focuses on lower total cost of ownership, easier maintenance and longer vehicle lifecycles, while the R1 adds features such as blind-spot detection, traction control and AI-powered sidewalk-riding detection. What’s Happening with Micromobility in Houston?Houston’s micromobility market has taken a different path from other Texas cities. Its Houston BCycle bikeshare launched in 2012 and grew to 33 stations and 225 bikes before shutting down in June 2024 after struggling to secure sustainable funding. Unlike Austin and Dallas, Houston also never saw a major wave of dockless e-scooter operators. Smaller rental businesses emerged instead, but tighter regulations, including an 8 p.m.–4 a.m. curfew introduced after data showed 78% of e-scooter crashes requiring EMS occurred during those hours, have further constrained the market. Malmö Rewards Ryde With 200 More ScootersRyde is expanding its Malmö fleet from 800 to 1k scooters after ranking first in the city’s latest performance-based permit evaluation. The operator accounted for 43% of shared e-scooter trips with less than 30% of the city’s vehicles, while recording 55% fewer relocations per trip than the market average. Malmö’s system ties fleet allocations to factors including parking compliance, data quality, vehicle rotation and geographic coverage, giving better-performing operators more room to grow. Lime and Voi Reappointed for London’s E-Scooter TrialLime and Voi have been reappointed for the third phase of London’s rental e-scooter trial, running for an initial two years from September 21. Phase 2 recorded more than 6m journeys, with July setting a new monthly record of over 340k trips. Phase 3 will introduce updated Lime and Voi vehicles, while TfL continues to focus on parking compliance, rider behaviour, safety and gathering evidence for future e-scooter regulation. Lime Invests $17M to Upgrade DC MicromobilityLime is investing $17m in Washington, D.C. in 2026 to refresh more than 8k e-bikes and e-scooters, expand its operations team and introduce new safety technology. The investment includes LimeBike, AI-powered age and parking verification, sidewalk and tandem-riding detection, and a 200% increase in Foot Patrol staffing. Lime says the plan also expands its Lime Access program, whose ridership doubled in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. Seeing Eye-to-Eye: Forging a New Relationship Between Micromobility Product and Policy DesignAt Micromobility Europe 2026, Evan Costagliola, Managing Director at Cityfi, moderated a City Stage discussion with Jelle De Keyser, Mobility Expert at the City of Antwerp, Joel Thomas Mulligan, UrbanTech Innovation Partner at Copenhagen Solutions Lab, and Robert Gibbons, Co-founder and CEO of Veluto, discussing what happens when cities and companies become partners in product and policy design rather than meeting only after products have been developed.
Dott Hits 10M Rides in the West of EnglandDott has passed 10m rides across Bristol, Bath, and South Gloucestershire, according to the operator, reaching the milestone on 18 September 2026 on an e-scooter in Bristol. The service, run in partnership with the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority since September 2023, has covered over 25 million km, with 78% of rides on e-scooters and 22% on e-bikes. Dott says 27.2% of trips replaced journeys that would otherwise have been made by private car, taxi, ride-hailing, or motorcycle, and around 99% of rides now end in designated parking bays, supported by in-app features and the Mayor's "Scoot Safe" campaign. The milestone follows a £5m reinvestment in spring 2026 that brought over 3k rebranded e-scooters and 1k e-bikes to the region. Fredericton Considers E-Scooter RulesMoVe launched in Fredericton with 120 rental e-scooters on Sept. 11, without prior consultation with city officials. While a councillor sees potential for the scooters to support the city’s active-transportation network, the sudden rollout has prompted discussion about whether municipal regulations are needed. Fredericton could look to nearby Moncton, where new rules require micromobility operators to obtain annual licences, follow parking restrictions and enforce a minimum rider age of 16. The scooters will be off the streets for winter, giving the city time to consider its options. Inside the Rise of TenwaysTenways has rapidly grown from a Shenzhen-based e-bike startup founded in 2021 into one of Benelux’s top five e-bike brands. The company has focused heavily on Europe, particularly Benelux and Germany, combining commuter-focused design, features such as belt drives and torque sensors, and relatively accessible pricing. Its European strategy appears to be paying off: revenue grew from €48m in 2023 to €61m in 2024, while Tenways was reportedly the fastest-growing e-bike brand in Benelux between 2022 and 2024.
