The Radiant Roundup- Tons of ideas to help you celebrate the faith in your home & classroom from Look to Him and be Radiant!

September Radiant Roundup

Hello friends! Happy September, the Month dedicated to the Seven Sorrows of Mary! We've also got the feasts of Mother Teresa, the Nativity and Holy Name of Mary, the Exaltation of the Cross, Padre Pio, and the Archangels coming up! I hope you find tools in this month's Radiant Roundup to help your kiddos pray, learn, and celebrate all month long!

St. Teresa of Calcutta Crossword Puzzle

I've got a new Mother Teresa crossword puzzle for you to use on her Feast Day on September 5th! I have a goal this school year to offer more flexible mini lessons on the lives of the Saints, helping my students get to know our heavenly friends.

While it is nothing fancy, you can't argue with the simple effectiveness of a good ole crossword puzzle. I've also included a recommended resource for a short article to read and a few video clips to watch. I plan to make more of these as the school year goes on, and I'll always include them in the monthly Radiant Roundups for their corresponding feast day!

Nativity of Mary

September 8th is the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary! Celebrate with a birthday party for our Blessed Mother- include a favorite treat, some decorations or a craft, a book to read, a music playlist, and your favorite Marian prayer.

Other Marian feast days this month include the Most Holy Name of Mary, Our Sorrowful Mother, Stella Maris, and Our Lady Undoer of Knots. I've got resources for all of them in this month's Radiant Roundup.

Padre Pio- Pray, Hope, and Donut Worry

St. Padre Pio's feast day is September 23rd. Set up an easy celebration with donuts and these cute Pray, Hope, and Donut Worry prayer cards- a fun play on his popular "Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry" quote!

St. Vincent de Paul & the Works of Mercy

St. Vincent de Paul is best remembered for his radical care for the poor and living out the works of mercy. Use his feast day on September 27th as an opportunity to learn and practice the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. I have a huge variety of resources on the CWM and SWM, including everything from coloring pages to Bible studies to practical ideas for kids to live them out.

September Book List

One of my very favorite things to do is recommending Catholic books for kids. This month's book list has books for Saint feast days including Mother Teresa, Hildegard of Bingen, Padre Pio, and Joseph of Cupertino, to name a few. I hope that it is a helpful resource when planning for lessons, shopping for gifts, or browsing at the library!

Monthly Devotion Signs

While I already have some simple text only signs for the traditional monthly Catholic devotions, a follower recently contacted me with a question about my headers from my Radiant Roundups- she wanted to use them for her bulletin board!

I thought it was a great idea, so I reformatted them to share with you! There is a full size 8.5x11" sign for each month, one that is full color like this snapshot, and one set that is on a white background for easier printing. I hope they are helpful for your classroom bulletin boards or family calendars.

 Prayer Card Collection

I hope the 2nd edition of this resource is a useful tool for you, your family, and your students. Thank you for being a LHBR subscriber!
