Holy Grail Sunscreen & Low pH BHA Overnight Mask (COSRX)

A busca pelo protetor solar perfeito que não seja demasiado oleoso, não deixe "white cast", não tenha um aroma forte (nem característico de protetor solar) e que funcione debaixo da maquilhagem terminou. Refiro-me ao Aloe Soothing Sun Cream da Cosrx (marca Coreana e cruelty-free) com SPF 50+ (proteção UVB) e PA+++ (proteção UVA). Chegou às minhas mãos há cerca de um mês, junto com a máscara Low pH BHA Overnight, na minha última encomenda na Jolse.

The quest for the perfect sunscreen that is not too oily, does not leave a white cast, doesn't have a strong scent (too characteristic to sunscreen) and that works under makeup is over. I'm referring to Cosrx's Aloe Soothing Sun Cream (Korean and cruelty-free brand) with SPF 50+ (UVB protection) and PA +++ (UVA protection). I received it a month ago, along with the Low pH BHA Overnight Mask, on my last order on Jolse.

Durante grande parte do inverno e no início do verão estava a utilizar um protetor solar de rosto da Bella Aurora, cujo o único problema para mim, era mesmo o cheiro. Assim que o terminei, comecei logo a usar este da Cosrx, e percebi que possivelmente tinha o meu futuro protetor favorito em mãos. Como mencionei acima, podem encontrar esta marca à venda na loja online Jolse, que é a rainha no que toca à quantidade de amostras enviadas (incluindo máscaras full size de tecido).

For most of the winter and early summer I was using a sunscreen by Bella Aurora, which the only downside for me was the smell. As soon as I finished it, I immediately started using this one from Cosrx, and I realized that maybe I had my future favorite sun cream in my hands. As I mentioned above, you can find this brand on Jolse, an online store that is the queen in terms of the amount of samples shipped (including full size sheet masks).

Leve, hidratante e calmante

São estas as características que me fazem gostar tanto deste protetor solar. O facto de ter aloe vera na sua composição acalma imenso a pele, especialmente quando tenho acne. Além disso, não "pesa", não é de modo algum gorduroso, e tem a proteção ideal para o dia a dia. Não tem uma textura extremamente densa (como se nota na foto acima), e ao espalhar, não fica com aquele típico "white cast" que muitos protetores solares deixam. O aroma é um plus! Tem um cheiro muito suave a aloe vera. Traz a quantidade normal — 50ml por apenas $13 (cerca de 11 €) e é vegan.

Lightweight, moisturizing and soothing

These are the characteristics that make me like this sunscreen so much. The fact that it has aloe vera in its composition soothes my skin immensely, especially when I have acne. In addition, it does not "weigh", it's not at all greasy, and has the ideal protection for the daily basis. It does not have an extremely dense texture (as seen in the photo above), and when it spreads, it does not have that typical white cast that many sunscreens leave behind. The scent is a plus! It has a very mild aroma of aloe vera. The amount of the product is 50ml for only $13 (about €11) and it's vegan.

Na mesma encomenda, e, aproveitando um kit promocional dos dois produtos a um preço especial, encomendei a máscara Low pH BHA. Uma máscara concebida para tratar, esfoliar, regenerar, e hidratar a pele durante o sono. Sign me up for that! Tem vários ingredientes que promovem a hidratação da pele, como a centelha asiática, que é o primeiro ingrediente presente na sua composição. A textura é muito densa, como uma pomada, com um cheiro característico que confesso não saber como descrever, mas que me agrada.

In the same order, and, taking advantage of a promotional kit of the two products at a special price, I ordered the Low pH BHA Overnight Mask. A mask designed to treat, exfoliate, regenerate, and moisturize the skin during sleep. Sign me up for that! It has several ingredients that promote skin hydration, like centella asiatica leaf water, which is the first ingredient present in its composition. The texture is very dense, like an ointment, with a characteristic scent that I confess not knowing how to describe, but that pleases me.

Tratar, esfoliar, regenerar e hidratar

A textura densa não me incomoda, precisamente por se tratar de uma overnight mask. Acordo sempre com a pele visivelmente mais suave, hidratada, e noto uma melhoria na textura. É importante utilizar protetor solar sempre, mas a ideia é reforçada quando se faz uso de produtos com BHA (ainda que este só contenha 0,9%), o protetor deve ser reforçado após o seu uso. Não sei ao certo como esta máscara se irá comportar em peles oleosas, devido à sua capacidade hidratante, mas julgo que funcionará na perfeição com peles secas e desidratadas, ou peles mistas (como a minha) que precisem de um reforço, bem como uma ajuda extra na textura.

To treat, exfoliate, regenerate and moisturize

The dense texture does not bother me, precisely because it is an overnight mask. I always wake up with visibly smoother, hydrated skin and I notice an improvement in texture. It is important to always wear sunscreen, but the idea is reinforced when using BHA products (although this only contains 0.9%), the sunscreen must be reinforced after use. I am not sure how this mask will work on oily skin because of its moisturizing ability, but I think it will work perfectly with dry and dehydrated skin or combination skin (such as mine) that need a boost as well as an extra help with its texture.

Já mencionei a Cosrx algumas vezes aqui no blog, e como não me canso de dizer, é Coreana e cruelty-free. A marca tem vários produtos vegan e, destes dois, apenas o Aloe Soothing Sun Cream o é. / I've mentioned Cosrx a few times here on the blog, and as I said before, it's cruelty-free & Korean. The brand has several vegan products and, of these two, only the Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is vegan. What is your favorite sunscreen? Have you tried overnight masks?
