Estou cada vez mais surpreendida com a cosmética Coreana e, hoje, dou-vos a minha opinião acerca de um produto da Neogen. É cruelty-free, e podem encontrar a marca à venda na Jolse (esta loja é muito generosa nas amostras que oferecem, acreditem!). Trata-se de um esfoliante, mais concretamente de 30 discos de algodão esfoliantes (uma novidade para mim, mas algo bastante comum na k-beauty), perfeito tanto para quem prefere esfoliantes químicos, como manuais.

I am increasingly surprised by Korean cosmetics and today I give you my opinion about a Neogen product. It's cruelty-free, and you can find the brand on Jolse (this store is very generous in the samples they offer, believe me!). It is an exfoliant, more specifically 30 exfoliating cotton pads (this is new for me, but it's quite common in k-beauty), perfect for both those who prefer chemical exfoliators or manuals.

Holy grail! Fiquei impressionada desde a primeira utilização (já explico porquê). O meu único receio com este produto era mesmo o facto de não parecer tratar-se do método mais amigo do ambiente, afinal estamos a utilizar um disco em cada utilização (ainda que seja só 1 – 2 vezes por semana). No entanto, a Neogen é uma young brand considerada eco-friendly e inovadora, pelo que acredito que exista um cuidado relativamente ao meio ambiente.

São 30 discos no total, e, como é visível nas fotografias, vêm totalmente embebidos em produto. Optei pelos de wine, mas existem também de lemon e green tea. O vinho tem antioxidantes potentes e benefícios para a pele — essa é a diferença para os outros produtos da mesma gama. O ingrediente estrela é o "resveratrol", que vem do vinho tinto, onde se encontram AHA's naturalmente produzidos (ajudam na esfoliação). Também contém uva, amora, mirtilo, framboesa (dos meus frutos favoritos!), e ácido lático.

Tenho optado por esfoliantes químicos desde que experimentei o BHA 20% + BHA 2% da The Ordinary. Este, para além de atuar na superfície (somos nós a fazer os movimentos circulares com o algodão), funciona como peeling, com estes benefícios e ingredientes que mencionei acima (e muitos mais).

Holy grail! I was impressed from the very first use (I'll explain why). My only concern with this product was that it didn't seem to be the most eco-friendly method, after all we are using one pad at a time (even if it's only 1-2 times a week). However, Neogen is a young brand that is considered to be eco-friendly and innovative, so I believe there is a care for the environment.

There are 30 pads in total, and, as it's visible in the photos, they are fully soaked in product. I chose the wine "flavor", but there's also lemon and green tea. Wine has potent antioxidants and benefits for the skin — that's the difference from the other "flavors". The star ingredient is "resveratrol", which comes from red wine, where naturally produced AHA's (help in exfoliation) are found. Also, contains grape, blackberry, blueberry, raspberry (some of my favorite fruits!), and lactic acid.

I have been preferring chemical exfoliators since I have tried the BHA 20% + BHA 2% by The Ordinary. This, besides acting on the surface, works as a peeling, with these benefits and ingredients I mentioned above (and many more).

Como utilizar?

Cada disco tem duas faces e uma abertura para colocar os dedos. De um lado (o primeiro que vêm na foto acima) o tecido é mais "agressivo", e é com ele que fazemos a esfoliação mecânica em movimentos circulares no rosto e pescoço (nas áreas mais problemáticas). A outra parte é suave, e deve ser utilizada como segundo passo, passando pelo rosto, limpando o restante produto que fica. No fim basta passar com água. É importante certificar-nos que não fica produto na pele. Comecei a utilizar os gauze peeling pads em maio e ainda não cheguei a meio dos 30 (costumo usar uma vez por semana). Têm-me durado imenso tempo (o preço compensa muito em promoção da Jolse! Costumam ficar a menos de $20). Se por acaso terminar os discos e sentir que ainda resta muito produto na embalagem, vou com certeza dar-lhe uso, nem que pegue em discos normais!

Para quem?

É direcionado para todos os tipos de pele. O objetivo deste esfoliante é deixar a pele mais suave, luminosa, firme e saudável. O aroma do "wine" é um pouco forte. Pessoalmente não me incomoda, e até sou sensível a cheiros fortes. Acaba por ser um aroma mais artificial a uva, não julgo que cheire extamente a vinho. Para mim, é tolerável, mas tenho muita curiosidade com os de limão também.

Resultados:

Ate há pouco tempo nunca tinha experimentado esfoliantes químicos. Sempre utilizei esfoliantes "normais", os ditos mecânicos. A verdade é que noto uma diferença brutal na sua utilização. O facto deste ser um mix dos dois fascinou-me de imediato. Sinto a pele extremamente suave relativamente à textura, poros, tudo — pele literalmente renovada, e tem-me ajudado mesmo muito a mantê-la "limpinha". Isto é, as marcas de acne notam-se cada vez menos e a minha pele aparenta estar verdadeiramente saudável. É fascinante ver toda a "porcaria" que fica no disco.

How to use?

Each pad has two faces and an opening to place the fingers. On one side the fabric is more aggressive, and it is with it that we mechanically exfoliate in circular movements on the face and neck (on the most problematic areas). The other part is soft, and should be used as a second step, going through the face, cleaning the remaining product. The last step is rinsing it with water. It is important to make sure that there is no product left on the skin. I started using the gauze peeling pads in May and have not yet reached the middle (I use it once a week). They're lasting a long time (Jolse has it on sale a lot for usually less than $20). If eventually I finish the pads and feel that there is still a lot of product left in the package, I will definitely use it, even with normal pads!

For whom?

It is targeted to all skin types. The purpose of this exfoliator is to leave the skin smoother, clearer, tighter and healthy. The "wine" smell is a bit strong. Personally it does not bother me, and I'm usually sensitive to strong smells. It turns out to be a more artificial grape smell I'd say, I do not think that it smells exactly like wine. For me, it's tolerable, but I'm also very curious about the lemon scent.

Results:

I had never tried chemical exfoliators until recently. I always used "normal" exfoliators, the so-called mechanical ones. The truth is that I notice a brutal difference with its use. The fact that this was a mix of the two fascinated me right away. I feel my skin extremely soft when talking about texture, pores, everything - literally renewed skin, and it has really helped me a lot to keep it "clean". That is, acne marks become less noticeable and my skin looks truly healthy. It's fascinating to see all the "crap" that stays on the pad.

As I mentioned, Neogen is cruelty-free and, although not all products are vegan-friendly, this product is totally vegan (such as the lemon and tea-green version).
