A Mad Hippie teve a bondade de enviar-me dois produtos para experimentar: o sérum de vitamina C e o óleo facial antioxidante (serums & oils, my favorites). Fiquei particularmente feliz — introduzi óleos na minha rotina há relativamente pouco tempo e agora é algo que não dispenso. 

A vitamina C funciona como um antioxidante que ajuda a melhorar o aspeto da pele (reduz o aparecimento de rugas e descoloração). Falei, até, no serum de vitamina C da Klairs há bem pouco tempo (ler aqui). Resultou às mil maravilhas comigo e, desta vez, foi altura de fazer uma pausa e dar uma hipótese ao da Mad Hippie. Aquilo que acho mais fascinante nos produtos da marca é o facto de não se focarem apenas num ingrediente principal. 


Apesar de ser, efetivamente, um serum de vitamina C, tem todo um conjunto de antioxidantes e princípios ativos, dos quais podemos destacar (para além da vitamina C): vitamina E (antioxidante protetor com propriedades semelhantes à C), ácido ferúlico (efeito antioxidante), ácido hialurônico (melhora a firmeza da pele), pó de raíz konjac (flor exótica da Ásia que suaviza a pele), toranja (atua como esfoliante natural), extrato de camomila (acalma a pele) e salva esclereia (ajuda a diminuir pele excessivamente seca ou muito oleosa).

Que maravilha de sérum! É, honestamente, um produto cujos resultados se notam quase de imediato. Pelo menos no que toca ao glow! Estou a usá-lo há cerca de um mês, e tornou-se o meu sérum favorito (continuo a adorar o da Klairs, mas é diferente). Continuo a ver melhorias nas minhas marcas de acne e, o melhor de tudo — não tenho tido novas imperfeições (ocasionalmente uma borbulha marota, mas tem sido raro). Fico com a pele hidratada, e absorve muito rápido, já para não falar no cheiro maravilhoso a fruta! É o sérum perfeito.

Mad Hippie was kind enough to send me two products to try: the vitamin C serum and the antioxidant facial oil. I was particularly happy — I recently introduced oils into my routine and now it is something I can't live without.

Vitamin C works as an antioxidant that helps to improve the appearance of the skin (reduces the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration). I mentioned Klairs' vitamin C serum recently (read here). It worked out amazing for me, and this time it was time to take a break and give a chance to Mad Hippie. What I find most fascinating about their products is that they do not focus on just one main ingredient. Although it is effectively a vitamin C serum, it has a bunch of antioxidants and active principles, of which we can highlight (in addition to vitamin C): vitamin E (with protective antioxidant properties similar to C), ferulic acid (antioxidant effect), hyaluronic acid (improves skin firmness), konjac root powder (exotic Asian flower that softens skin), grapefruit (acts as a natural exfoliant), chamomile extract (soothes the skin) and clary sage (diminish excessively dry or very oily skin).

Such a wonderful serum! It is, honestly, a product whose results are noticed almost immediately. At least the glow! I've been using it for about a month, and it has become my favorite serum (I still love Klairs', but it's different). I continue to see improvements in my acne scars and, best of all — I have had almost no new imperfections (occasionally a naughty pimple, but it has been rare). My skin gets hydrated, and it absorbs very fast, not to mention the wonderful smell of fruit! It is the perfect serum.

O ingrediente principal deste óleo antioxidante é óleo orgânico de argão, cuja função (como já devem saber) é hidratar e revitalizar a pele. Já tinha usado óleo de argão na pele, e também já experimentei no cabelo. Este é, no entanto, especial. Para além de argão, dou destaque a outros ingredientes: sementes de cânhamo (com ómega 3, 6 e 9) que ajudam a hidratar e proteger a pele, bagas de espinheiro do mar (fonte natural de vitaminas A, B, C, D, E, K e P), óleo de romã (antioxidante potente rico em ácido elágico que ajuda a normalizar o tom de pele, bem como minimizar os efeitos do foto envelhecimento, e extrato de brócolos — rico em sulforafano que reduz a vermelhidão da pele.

Muitos destes nomes são novos para mim, mas uma das coisas que realmente gosto na Mad Hippie é toda a explicação em torno dos ingredientes, bem como a justificação do porquê de estarem presentes na fórmula dos produtos. 



Este óleo foi uma surpresa muito agradável. Se já experimentaram óleo de argão, sabem que o aroma não é muito agradável (assemelha-se ao azeite), mas este, apesar de se sentir o argão, tem um aroma frutado e delicioso. Gosto de o usar especialmente à noite, para uma hidratação extra na pele do rosto, e funciona às mil maravilhas comigo. Costumava ter zonas mais secas no rosto, e admito que agora está tudo bastante normalizado.

O packaging é extremamente simples e com um design adorável e colorido. As embalagens são de vidro, e as caixinhas foram impressas com tintas de soja utilizando energia 100% eólica.

The main ingredient of this antioxidant oil is organic argan oil, whose function (as you may know) is to moisturize and revitalize the skin. I had already used argan oil on my skin, and I have also tried it on my hair. This is, however, special. In addition to argan, I can highlight other ingredients: hemp seeds (with omega 3, 6 and 9) that helps moisturize and protect the skin, sea buckthorn berries (natural source of vitamins A, B, C, D, E, K and P), pomegranate oil (potent antioxidant rich in ellagic acid that helps normalize skin tone, as well as minimizes the effects of photo aging), and broccoli extract — rich in sulforaphane which reduces skin redness.

Many of these names are new to me, but one of the things I really like about Mad Hippie is all the explanation around the ingredients as well as the justification of why they are present in the formula. This oil was a very pleasant surprise. If you have ever tried argan oil, you know that the aroma is not very pleasant (it resembles olive oil), but this one, although you can feel the argan, has a fruity and delicious aroma. I like to use it especially at night, for extra hydration on the skin, and it works wonders for me. I used to have drier areas on my face, and I admit that everything is very regulated now.

The packaging is extremely simple with a lovely and colorful design. The bottles are made of glass, and the boxes were printed with soy inks using 100% wind energy.
